Dredging a new swing basin and channel and constructing a hardstand area
Hall Contracting was engaged to a new swing basin and 2.2km long channel to expand the Mermaid Marine Supply Base. Our team used the 770,000m³ of sand and calcarenite dredged to construct a new wharf area, with excess material relocated by trucks to other sites around the base.
The works involved the construction of rock armoured walls as well as extensive on-land earthworks to create new hardstand areas.
