Constructing a concrete lock and weir, including an elevated pedestrian bridge

Hall Contracting was engaged by Stockland to undertake construction of a concrete lock and weir as part of their development in Newport, Queensland. The project also included constructing an elevated pedestrian bridge, installing a new salinity pumping station, and delivering a piled inlet structure to support the salinity pipe system.

Key deliverables included:

  • 25,000m³ of bulk earthworks;
  • installing 2,000m³ of structural concrete;
  • installing floating pontoons;
  • constructing salinity intake structures and jetties; and
  • installing 280m of 1,500mm diameter of GRP
