Dredging and beach renourishment works on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula

With two beaches on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula facing severe coastal erosion in recent years, the Victorian Government Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) engaged Hall Contracting to undertake dredging and beach renourishment works at Rosebud Beach and Rosebud West Beach.

Cutter suction dredge Warraber dredged a total of 20,000m³ of sand over two separate stages. Stage 1 involved dredging and renourishing Rosebud West Beach and was completed prior to Christmas 2019. Temporary demobilisation occurred over the Christmas and Victorian school holiday period to accommodate holidaymakers, before Stage 2 works were undertaken at Rosebud Beach in late January.
