Dredging an approach channel to facilitate construction of the Tug Facility

Pilbara Ports engaged Hall Contracting to undertake dredging for the construction of Fortescue’s new tug facility at the Port of Port Hedland.

The scope of works involved dredging the tug facility’s approach channel from the end of the Anderson Point Three Berth within the iron ore export terminal.

The team utilised two cutter suction dredges, Eastern Aurora and Mabuiag, to dredge almost 1,000,000m³ of material to the designated design level of the tug infrastructure pocket, approach channel and benched areas.
