Beach renourishment works at a popular beach
With Maroochydore Beach prone to erosion from natural coastal processes, Sunshine Coast Council has regularly engaged Hall Contracting to dredge sand from the Maroochy River and use it to replenish the popular stretch of beach.
The works widen the beach and maintain an erosion buffer between the waves and the dunes, roads, paths and buildings. Each dredging campaign typically occurs between the months of April to September and involves dredging approximately 100,000m3 of sand using cutter suction dredge Navua and replenishing a 2km stretch of foreshore
