EBEYE, THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS
Constructing a new seawall in the Republic of the Marshall Islands
On behalf of the Republic of the Marshall Islands’ (RMI) Ministry of Public Works, Hall has been engaged to construct coastal protection infrastructure on the Ebeye atoll.
Due to RMI’s the low-lying topography, the island nation is extremely vulnerable to the effects of severe weather events and climate change. In order to mitigate erosion and greatly reduce inundation from storm surges and rising sea levels, Hall is constructing a new seawall in Ebeye using approximately 65,000 tones of armour rock.
The project is being funded by the World Bank and Green Climate Fund.
