Conducting jetty repair works involving dredging and causeway repairs

Fiji Roads Authority engaged Hall Contracting to undertake repair works for the Nabouwalu Jetty. The jetty provides a key transportation link between Vanua Levu and Viti Levu.

The jetty services a wide range of users including vehicular/passenger ferries, police, customs, navy, fishing vessels, government supply ships and small locally-based vessels. The design and construction of the interim solution needed to ensure that the Nabouwalu Jetty remained fully functional throughout the construction phase.

The team constructed a mooring dolphin, a reinforced concrete structural overlay for the jetty ramp, 14 bollards, and traffic stop logs; dredged up to 1500m³ of sediment and conducted general causeway repairs.
