LAUTOKA, FIJI
On behalf of Amex Resources Limited, Hall dredged a navigation channel and berth pocket at Lautoka Wharf in Fiji to allow large carrier ships to enter the port's new export facility.
Cutter suction dredge Amity was tasked with pumping 520,000m3 of material to an offshore disposal site, as designated by Fiji Ports and the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji.
A spreader pontoon and GPS data were utilised to ensure the material was discharged within the allocated area and in compliance with the designated seabed height.
Around 12 Fijian team members were employed for the project in a range of roles including relief dredge operators, mechanical engineers and deck hands.
