International aid

With climate change impacting tidal movements, sea levels and the severity and frequency of storm systems, many Pacific Island nations are being negatively impacted by erosion, flooding and ecosystem imbalances.

Hall Pacific is our dedicated division for providing dredging, civil construction and marine infrastructure solutions to combat the effects of climate change in the Pacific Islands. We also play a vital role in connecting remote Pacific Island communities through the provision of transport infrastructure including (but not limited to) wharves, jetties and ramps.

We collaborate with a range of national governments, high-profile companies, local stakeholders and not-for-profit organisations to address the complex challenges facing these communities.

Whether it’s conducting land reclamation and coastal protection works in remote areas such as Tuvalu or Tokelau; undertaking flood mitigation dredging on a Fijian river; or constructing marine infrastructure that enables safer and more efficient transport of people, food, and essential services, Hall is experienced in servicing remote island communities.

We also believe our Pacific Island neighbours should be empowered to protect themselves from the impacts of climate change. As such, we make a concerted effort to build capacity amongst Pacific Island communities, delivering employment and training opportunities to local workers.

We aim to

Improve the living standards of local communities

We contribute positively to the living conditions within Pacific Island communities, whether it’s by reducing flooding and pollution, creating more useable land space or constructing marine or land transport infrastructure.

Protect Pacific Island communities from climate change

Our team successfully protects communities against severe weather events, designing and building seawalls that increase resistance against large waves and storm systems. Our land reclamation capabilities also enable us to safeguard Pacific Island communities against rising sea levels.

Support local economies

In addition to the highly experienced team of Australian expatriates that deliver our projects in the Pacific Islands, we source a high percentage of workers locally. We pride ourselves on equipping local residents with new skills and creating employment opportunities.

Care for the environment

With many Pacific Islanders relying on agricultural practices for their food supply and livelihood, we understand the importance of looking after the ecosystems we work in. Our dredging and civil construction solutions always consider the health and prosperity of the surrounding natural environment.
