Care for kids

Beneficiary: Sweet Dreams and Good Night Wishes
Location: South-East Queensland, Australia

Hall joined forces with not-for-profit Sweet Dreams and Good Night Wishes to donate much-needed ‘care bags’ for Queensland children entering foster care and group homes.

Each of the bags contained everyday essentials including a set of clothes, pyjamas, socks, underwear and toiletries as well as a cuddly toy and items like balls, books and colouring-in materials.

With children typically entering care under traumatic circumstances and with no personal belongings other than the clothes on their back, the intention of the bags was to make the transition into care a little easier and provide comfort during a distressing time. They also aimed to restore a sense of dignity, with many children in care otherwise carrying their belongings in garbage bags when moving from one foster care placement to another.

Hall compiled 82 bags, which were distributed via the Department of Child Safety and foster care agencies.
