Beneficiary: LiteHaus International
Location: Australia and Solomon Islands
Hall Contracting has helped to tackle the digital divide, donating more than 50 laptops plus tablets and docking stations to not-for-profit organisation LiteHaus International.
The charity repurposes used devices and gifts them to people in the Asia Pacific region who have limited or no access to digital technology due to social, financial, or geographic barriers.
Many of Hall’s devices were used to establish digital learning labs at King George VI High School and Honiara High School in the Solomon Islands.
Australian students also benefited from the donation, with LiteHaus International’s Digital Inclusion Program providing free devices to rural, regional and remote high school students who do not own a personal laptop. With over 500,000 computers disposed of in Australia every year, this initiative not only allowed Hall to provide digital learning opportunities to disadvantaged students, but also divert e-waste away from landfill.
