GLADSTONE, QUEENSLAND
Dredging 150,000m³ of material from a busy marina
The Gladstone Marina is a busy working environment with pilot boats, lines boats, large barges, ferries, large fishing charters and private pleasure craft all regularly transiting this precinct.
Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) engaged Hall Contracting to undertake maintenance dredging within the marina, providing safe passage and navigable channels for commercial and recreational vessels.
The Marina Maintenance Lustrum Dredging project involved removing approximately 150,000m³ of material from the marina to a dedicated location onshore, achieving the design depth of -4.5m to -5.0m LAT. This project marked the third time Hall has undertaken maintenance dredging on behalf of GPC, with cutter suction dredge Saibai tasked with carrying out the project.
