North Harbour is a master planned community which combines a mix of business, marina and residential communities, as well as facilities including a marina village, heritage conservation park and extensive open space. The initial scope of work awarded consisted of the bulk earthworks and civil works for the first four stages, as well as a major upgrade to Buckley Road, the project’s primary access point.
This has now been extended to include more stages, a major sewer pump station and a rising main. With the estate’s primary access road requiring reconstruction, Hall Contracting identified the option to utilise alternative access, helping to manage construction traffic.
In the first 2 stages Hall Contracting constructed more than 2.5km of road, including dual carriageway road and the 800 m reconstruction of Buckley Road. This included more than 500,000 m3 of earthworks, as well as the delivery of associated retaining walls, drainage, sewer and services.
