Hall Contracting constructed the Brightwater Estate Lake and Canal under a number of lump sum contracts. Works included the excavation of 13 ha (and over 1,000,000m3 of material) to develop the lake and surrounding development, and the translocation of 12.2 ha of native vegetation (including rare and threatened plant species).
All associated lake infrastructure was delivered, including over 4km of revetment walls, steel and vinyl sheet piles, a significant culvert structure, concrete weir, a salinity pumping system and intake structure with a jetty.
The project has numerous terrain and environmental constraints, including marine clays and soft clays (requiring subgrade modifications), ASS soils, a high water table, marine vegetation and strict water quality requirements. Hall Contracting is proud to have received multiple environmental award nominations for this project.
